These are little crabs. They cost your first born child.
Expensive Johnsonvilles! I was really surprised when I saw these. Like, people have eaten them here!!
Some strange chips! Ketchup flavor anyone? I do believe I bought the cheeseburger ones.
This bag of Fruit Loops is $14. If you get a box of cereal it's anywhere from $7-$10. Ridiculous. So I'm not eating cereal while I'm here. Especially when milk is also very pricey.
I've been slowly trying the things that I've bought and I realized I got a lot of snacks and not real food, but that's alright! I did buy rice, tuna for that rice, and chicken breast! Because it's the cheapest meat, like $5 for 4 small/medium sized boobs. I mean, that's four dinners for me right there. And I bought Korean BBQ sauce for them!! Which I bought a skillet and other cooking utensils yesterday.
Peanut butter and jelly/jam are very expensive when bought separately, probably over $12, but it's only $5 when you buy them mixed together!! They actually had that at the store and so far so good. I got bread for it and it's been my breakfast! The orange juice here is also made from mandarins so the taste is a little different and there's a lot of pulp in it, but it serves it's purpose!
I bought these. They smell like blueberry muffins, but they aren't as good as the other blueberry ones I bought previously.
Rebekah bought these strawberry choco pies, but they're not soft and very crumbly.
Yes. I bought them and they taste like literal tortilla chips with probably half of the seasonings the kind in America has. They aren't bad though, taste close enough to the real thing so I won't complain.
I bought a ddeokbokki (rice cakes) tv dinner essentially with pork! It was too spicy, of course, and I was too full from whatever else it was I was eating. But it wasn't bad. Kinda expensive though.
SO SMALL.
NOT GOOD. I don't like these...there's like no filling and it's super dry. It's actually not even a Korean snack. But. I will eat them.
These are good! And soft! For once! Just marshmallow, cake, and chocolate. Can't go wrong with that.
Smoky Bacon Chips. It smells like actual smoke from a smoker, it's kinda insane. The taste probably isn't as bacony as it could be, but it's finally a chip that isn't sweet and that's great. Tastes like BBQ to me. A+.
Coffee milk! And actually, when I bought this, I got an extra one taped to it so I got 7 in stead of 6 and that makes me a happy camper. It's yummy, tastes like the Starbucks bottled mochas you can buy.
I also bought an eraser pen which I am SO excited about because I wanted one in America and couldn't find it, but this one was just $1 and it's cute. Please pardon my appearance, I had just showered.
Yesterday, we went to a market with the sole purpose of purchasing fantabulous strawberries. We did too. The lady at the stall was super nice. She spoke to the four of us in Korean and I understood and I responded in Korean and I was just very very satisfied with myself! She even gave us cherry tomatoes to munch on after Rebekah bought some. They're really good even though I don't like tomatoes that much. But her strawberries are the bomb!
We passed a fish stall as well. They have massive shrimp and it's actually pretty cheap compared to seafood in Wisconsin, probably because they have a huge market for fish considering this is a peninsula. So we all decided to pull money together one of these days and buy huge shrimp to feast on.
Live little octopi!
Actually, we were stopped by (I'm assuming) a couple, as well. They spoke to us in Korean and English and again I was proud that I understood and responded in Korean. Talk about a confidence booster. Actually, the man literally run to us to talk to us, it was kind of funny, to be honest.
All in all, it was a fun day and a real confidence booster. I really needed that kind of practice with Korean! Not to mention, they were just super duper nice to us. We'll be going back to that market for sure.
