And a Sad Farewell

The farewell Friends event! You see, we all split up into groups, like two singing, two dancing, traditional games, and a movie making group and we all had to present/perform at the farewell party. I was in the singing group and I don't wanna talk about it.

It was really fun and they gave us the best pizza I've had here which was surprisingly Hawaiian with bacon and other meats and bbq sauce and the best. It was crazy with beer and lots of swearing and really crappy microphones and did I mention pizza?

We all got a pretty cool parting gift, a USB with our little faces on it!

Wow, go me for good picture taking skills. See if you can spot my head dot!

And then of course we can't do anything without more drinking! So we went to a place I had never been to before and drank a whole darn lot. Yes, including me, but I was still stable enough to walk a straight line thank you very much! I called it quits when SOMEONE poured Fresh soju (which was crafted by Satan himself) into my glass which smelled like the grapefruit soju I had been drinking all night. I almost threw up so I called it good after that one.

The SOMEONE acting all innocent and happy.

He took my purse. And because he looked so good with it, I decided that, yes, I must share this with whomever looks at this blog post. You're all welcome.

But I was clearly not having it.

It was a good time! But I got too sleepy again.

Boo!

Okay, so let's talk food!

I don't even want to try it. I'm good not knowing what that tastes like.

This is some good ice cream! The ice cream (I have no clue about the flavor, kinda fruity maybe) is soft but it has hard ice pieces in it for the jewels!

I finally got these, today actually, and they're a bit pricey but darn if they aren't delicious!! I was skeptical cause it's got an orange slice on it, but it's really good and super soft.

Aka liquid chocolate, no thanks. I like a little milk in my chocolate please.

This was so good! Ice cream, dark choco shell layer, cookies and cream ice cream!

The more you know.

Bye bye!

Go Crazy! With Psy , Twice, and Stellar

Actually, as the semester is coming to it's end (a whopping 16 days away), there hasn't been too much planned for me to do. I'm finishing up essays and soon I'll be stuck with my nose in papers that don't make sense and ppt files up to my sad, tired eyeballs. I've got two boxes packed and I'm waiting to ship them out because I need a translator and one more item not in my possession to shove into the box. I'll let you know how much that kills my poor bank account... The boxes were like $3 together and they're pretty nice sizes. So far I've shoved shoes, hoodies, cardigans, sweaters, a scarf, a towel, and a blanket in them and that's about all I can do for it. Just some things I won't need until winter cause I'm pretty sure that's when I'll finally see them.

Anyway, some events that have happened the past few weeks have been the school's festival and then the farewell party for the Friends Club.

The food trucks were right outside of one of the buildings I take classes in, but there was only like five and one of them was selling pricey steaks?? Like?? College campus?? No money??

But I did enjoy this nice "American" hot dog and yeah it was pretty darn delicious. Maybe not like a ballpark hot dog, but good enough. I live for grilled onions.

Garlic butter shrimp oh my goodness I ate it up so fast.

The stage area! There were several performances. The first day was for Psy and a girl group I don't care about, Twice.

But first I think we waited for like three hours watching students do performances. Some of them were really cool! I apologize for the upside down videos, I tried to flip them but I can't and apparently this laptop didn't come with Windows Movie Maker and I'm not spending money to buy it. I tried editing online for free but watermarks and ad intros are really unappealing.

He had a really nice voice.

This guy did too!!!

These guys were soooo good! I wish I had gotten a better video, I got goosebumps!

One of my highlights! They did an intro dance BTS did one special event several years ago. The dance itself is awesome.

This performance was really funny! And actually the guy with the horse mask was extremely handsome....

More BTS!!! DOPE!!!

My boys right there.

And then finally Twice came.

Oh yay. Teenage girls prancing around in outfits my mother would never have let me worn at that age. Maybe it's cause I'm biased or maybe it's cause the overall opinions that I had heard was that they weren't that great. But boy did the Korean guys eat them up, it was a little on the creepy side. Twice didn't even need to sing (though they were syncing it), the army of fanboys had that one covered. The crowd was just an ocean of phone screens. I would hate that as a performer. Take a couple pics and put it down, enjoy the experience and the music, guys.

PSY!

I was so sad because I only had like 1% on my phone by the time Psy got there, so it died during his second song. But every song he did, we got jumpin' and it was crazy cause it was nice and cool outside but then it got grossly hot from all the sweat...

The first song Psy performed was my favorite, Right Now. The first Psy song I heard and honestly, it's still the best. A great music video too.

I got a little enthusiastic there. He had lyrics on the screen behind him so I was able to accurately shout along instead create a new language.

I would totally recommend going to a Psy concert cause it's fun and off the wall and he's interactive. He wore a hair pin that's really popular here and it was like a little berry and he tried to dance with but ultimately flung it away and I thought 'didn't some guy buy that...?'

The next day was much less cooler performance wise and there was like no one there but actually, I was really impressed. It was a girl group known for their more adult oriented choreography and outfits, Stellar. They're pretty good, I think. I only knew to songs, but it was still chill.

Actually I think that'd be my go to outfit right there.

OoooOoooOH so sexy.

And then it was off to party.

As you can see from the time stamp and my god awful appearance, we stayed out extremely late dancing. And by the time I stumbled into bed, ready to hurl from over dancing (no, I had a moderate amount of alcohol thank you), I knocked out so fast.

Sadly, like two days after that I was so messed up. I could barely eat, I felt horrible and just so sickly. I ended up missing the performances I was most excited for, the hip hop section with Tiger JK, Zion.T (I heard his familiar voice drifting through my window while I laid on my make shift coffin), and MFBTY.

But it was fun, all good stuff right there.

Jeju Island Pt.5: Udo!

Udo (우도)! U Island is weird to say, so I'm sticking with Udo [oo-doe]. Udo is a little island off the east coast of Jeju. You have to take a ferry to get there!

So, the first thing we do when we get there is go to rent some kind of vehicle. But you either need a passport or an international driver's license. However, the shop behind the first one was much more lenient, which is good for someone who doesn't have any kind of license and didn't bring their passport with them. Turns out they just wanted one license/ID card for the whole group, which was pretty cool.

So guess what?

They wouldn't give the girls fast ones, which really sucked. We couldn't go as far as we wanted in our 2 hour time limit. But when the guys graciously traded for a moment, I got my hands on a fast one and it was amazing! I like those things, but they need mirrors to see behind us...

I really liked zooming around on those things. Except for the speed bumps of course...not very friendly.

Really pretty water but the beach itself was not sand. It was like shells, but it wasn't like shells? I don't know, it was interesting.

But then it was time to go back to the main island.

And that was the last of the greater things we did. When we got back near the hostel, we went back to that buffet. Apparently the group had ate there the night before when Pia and I had pizza. I don't blame them, though.

So our flight was scheduled to leave at 7:15 and our hostel was far away so we had to reserve two taxis to come pick us up at 4:50am. The original plan was to stay up all night (drinking, I guess) but most of us knocked out for two hours, having made it as far as 2am. The rest of the trip was a struggle.

Exhaustion.

Emptiness.

Nice.

And that concluded our trip to Jeju!
