Anyway, this past weekend was out trip to Jeju. We left on Thursday and came back Sunday morning.
Trying to be cool with my massive glasses.
We took an airport bus from Hotel Castle, where I'll be going to take the bus to Incheon Airport.
But this time, we flew out of Seoul's other international airport, Gimpo! Considerably smaller, I think.
Milk tea, but it wasn't really that good. The bottle was really nice, though.
One hour turned into two, actually. Our flight got delayed several times and then the gate changed but they didn't announce it, and if they did, it was in Korean. We didn't find out until it was our scheduled time to leave and we tried to get on the wrong plane. Thankfully, the lady told us gate 14, not 13. Still a really crappy move on the airport.
But we finally made it onto the airplane and, of course, I was seated in the same row as a small girl who wouldn't stop staring at me until she hurt herself and demanded orange juice and a bandaid. The whole plane was full of kids, to be honest. But since the flight was only an hour, it was easy to deal with.
As soon as you get out of the airport, you're greeted with (dead) palm trees and, for being someone who hasn't seen palm trees, it's super fancy, okay?
Ripley's Believe it or Not.
I really wanted to go to this bridge since it's just outside of the hostel we stayed at, but I didn't have the time.
It took like 2 hours by airport bus to get to the hostel's general area. We stayed on the southern coast of Jeju, smack dab in the middle of it actually. The room wasn't too fancy or anything, but it was good enough. It had a tv and a properly running bathroom. The people there were nice enough. The lady working there even shared her rice cakes with me.
After traveling so much, we unanimously decided food would be next on the agenda. The group split and the one I was with went to a sushi buffet. They only had an hour until close, so the manager gave us the lunch price instead of dinner prices. But this buffet was intense!
They had two long counters full of different fancy sushi.
They had a slushie machine! Thy also had ice cream and a bingsoo (shaved ice) machine, too. It was pretty crazy and we were all pretty stoked. Especially over the french fries there...
Afterwards, we walked by a batting cage and decided to hit. The first time I did it the angle it was shooting the balls was terrible! I later figured out it was for shorter people... So I tried the taller one next and I only missed abut two of the balls. They let you hit a lot of balls for only 500W (less than 50cents) a game. Totally fun and totally worth it.
The plan afterwards was to drink on the rooftop of the hostel, but since I stayed back to play at the batting cages with another girl, we were left by ourselves. We did buy alcohol, yes, but we got distracted by the gorgeous view we saw earlier, with that bridge, and decided to explore.
I don't know which filter I like better, but the picture without a filter is crudy... It's so hard to capture how beautiful lights are with a camera.
We found this little place that's sort of like a bar. It was just past this bridge and I thought it was simply a walkway lined with benches, but turns out it was a little place to eat at. So after walking through, having several (intoxicated) people yell hi at us, we decided to join and sit down at a table. And actually, one of the people that kept waving at us came over and tapped me on the shoulder to say goodbye. Drunk people are kind of funny.
And of course, being the old person I am, I was beyond tired and went to bed after that.
